Every retailer knows that. When stores put up Christmas decorations the day after (or before) Halloween, it creates a stir - the same stir Nordstrom created by standing their ground. And you know as well as I do, that creating a stir is what it's all about. There's no such thing as bad publicity. Anything retailers can do to make a buck... that's the goal of Christmas.<br /><br />My wife, a traditional, Kosher-keeping, havdala-loving Jew loves all things Christmas. She begins requesting The Waitresses' "Christmas Wrappings" in July! We don't celebrate Christmas, nor do we have a Christmas tree (or Chanukah bush). We light a chanukiah for tradition's sake, but we don't exchange gifts. We buy something for my son, but as he is 24, it's a little old. But, my wife is very taken up in the Christmas shopping season.
